This thing does mp3's. Soon to do pdf's!! If this is a reasonable quality device and gives a decent quality pdf display this could be what we've been hoping for. I know I want nothing smaller than 13" or 14" for my needs.

Interesting find! If that uses the same ink technology as Kindle and Nook readers( and it looks like it does) it will also be great for outdoor use as well. And for that kind of chump change it's a steal.

Too bad it's not initially shipping with PDF capability

Edit Reason: no initial release of pdf support

Steve,

Don't worry it won't be long before there are tablets wall to wall, W7 is alive and well you will have a nearly A4 pad with PDF for less than a IPAD.

Tony.

Yes indeed this looks like one to watch...Especially for those who ONLY need it for viewing charts.

Doesn't look like its much good for much else. No MIDI play capability, not a lot of storage, no MP3 play, no additional productivity apps, no colour!!! etc etc...Although the display looks eminently readable, and its a decent size as well smile

As one said above for $99....it's a no-brainer smile I would buy one to add to the iPad.

By color, I mean one electronic ink shade at a time. With a choice of black or white backgrounds on the matte monochrome display, users can scribble in black, white, green, red and blue. The 0.6-pound has some standard tablet requirements like an SD card slot, USB connectivity, a headphones jack and various control buttons.

Sorry, but that's not going to cut it. Being able to highlight, being able to annotate your charts in contrasting colors, well, aside from the SMF and MP3 playback, THAT'S what makes the MPP and iPad viewers so good..!

I wonder what this set up is. All I can see is they are talking about the software. Wonder what the deal is with the double page tablet and stand???

My guess is it is new Windows software. That on the stand looks like a normal widescreen monitor to me. From reading it I think you need an external PC of some sort...either Laptop or Desktop.
